Supplies:

Folded card base (this one is blue with white specs)

White card stock

Kalidacolor ink pad (I used Birthstone)

Black ink pad (I used Memories)

VLVS Super Gloss Embossing Powder

Heat Gun

Miracle tape

Scissors

Trimmer

Scoring tool

Scrap of glitter paper (I used some from Doodlebug)

Pop Dots

Spellbinder's die and die cutter

Stardust glitter pen

Circle punch

Markers

Stipple brushes

Stamps: Paisley Bunch, birthday cake lady, Happy new year

Go HERE to see how to create the pop-up.

OK, first things first.

Fold your base card.

Use a scrap of card stock to create the pop up using the directions at the webpage I directed you to.

Cut a piece of white card stock to fit the right side of the pop up mechanism.

See the lovely Happy New Year stamp?

The vertical orientation isn't going to work for this card.

So, cut it apart.

See, now you can line it up however you'd like.

Ink with the Kalidacolor pad and stamp on white card stock that you cut to fit the pop up mechanism.

Get out that stipple brush, ink it on the K-pad, and add some color to the stamped panel.

Trace over the words with the Star Dust pen.

Stamp and emboss birthday cake lady on white card stock. Color with markers and cut out.

Stamp and emboss just the cake part of the image on another piece of card stock. Color and cut out.

Use Miracle Tape to attach her to the left side of the pop up piece.

Attach your Happy new Year to the right side of the pop up piece.

Stamp Paisley bunch all over inside of card.

Use Miracle tape and attach pop up mechanism.

Now stamp Paisley Bunch all over white card stock panel for card front, using the K-pad.

Ink edges with K-pad.

Use stipple brush on Kalidacolor pad to add a little color to the card.

Attach to card front.

Die cut shape for card front from glitter paper, and adhere.

Stamp birthday cake lady. Punch out just the face with a 1" circle punch.

Color.

Die cut a scalloped circle from the same card stock as the base card.

Put birthday cake lady's face on scalloped circle using a pop dot.

Add to card front.

Use letter stickers to spell out "Hey baby" on card front.

Card Making Frenzy

I've been making cards today. Using up scraps, playing with stamps, making a mess.

Doodletales Stamps

I received the CUTEST little Doodletales stamps!!

All of her images are hand drawn, and she makes the stamps herself!!

HEre we have the kitty in a window and a cute snowman border.

I have two cards for you today!

This first one uses the stinking ADORABLE kitty in the window stamp.

I mean, REALLY, how cute can you be!

Super simple Christmas card.

Cream base card, inked edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Patterned paper from K & Co, used pretty corner punch (Fiskars).

Inked with Vintage Photo. Center onto card.

Cut another piece of patterned paper (K & Co), ink edges with Vintage Photo.

Stamp Merry Christmas at top using black ink. Color with colored pencils.

Stamp kitty on white card stock with black ink.

Cut out around entire image and place in center of panel.

Stamp again on white card stock, using black ink, and color with colored pencils.

Tie sheer white ribbon around bottom of panel and add some pinecones, holly, whatever ya have.

Place panel onto center of card.

Now, from your second image, cut out just the kitty.

Place kitty over image on card with pop dots.

And this guy!

I ADORE this little border stamp.

I've used it on most of my Christmas card envelopes this year!

Cut your snowflake patterned paper to fit card front and adhere.

Cut an oval from white card stock (I used a Spellbinder's die).

Stamp a few rows of the snowman border on the oval

using blue ink (I used Ranger's Denim dye ink), and color with pencils.

Die cut snowman from Grungeboard (or if you have the precut Grunge, use the snowman from that,

or make a snowman!). Paint his body white, and cover with Martha Stewart Mica Flake Glitter.

Set aside to dry. Paint other snowman parts and add orange glitter too the carrot nose.

Once all of the snowman parts are dry, place oval onto card, to the right.

Add snowman (you'll have to assemble him, I used Tacky Glue) to the left.

Punch/die cut a little tag.

Stamp sentiment in blue ink.

Edge tag with blue ink.

Stamp part of the border with the same blue ink.

Use twine and add tag to snowman's 'hand'.

Take your glitter one and add a little to the snow.

Super cute!!

Viva Las Vegas Ultra Gloss EP

Heat gun

Scissors

Embossing folder

Distress Stickles- Tarnished Brass

Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Pine Needles, Bundled Sage, and Crushed Olive

Inking handle

This one is most certainly going onto my tag garland! I really love it!

Ink your tag using the handle with Bundled Sage and Crushed Olive.

Yeah, I know, but don't worry, it's going to be fabulous!

Ink ever so slightly with Pine Needles.

Rub your Pine Needles pad across an embossing folder.

Put your tag inside (I put them so that the end with the hole is sticking out), and run it through.

Pretty, isn't it!

But we're not going to stop there.

Ink generously using the handle and Vintage Photo.

Then, use your finger to rub Tarnished Brass Distress Stickles all over the tag.

Dry with heat gun.

So, how do you like that!??!

I'm all about layers, baby!

Oooh, glitzy!

Now, die cut a red piece of paper (I used the back of a sheet of Tim paper).

Stamp words in black and emboss with VLVS SUper Gloss EP.

Ink edges with Vintage Photo.

Put it on the tag with Miracle Tape, slightly off center.

Put Miracle Tape across the top of the tag, covering the un-embossed area and the hole.

Place two rows of beaded trim across the tape. Burnish down.

Cut out a vintage image, ink edges with Vintage Photo.

Place at bottom right of tag with foam tape.

Here's today's tag!

Supplies:

TAG!

Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles, Barn Door

Distress Ink handle

Heat gun

Memories Mist- Iridescent

Background stamp of your choice (what about THIS ONE, or THIS ONE? maybe this one?)

Grungeboard tree and star

Embossing Powders- Gold and Enchanted Gold (both from Ranger)

Perfect Medium pad

Scraps of paper

Black ink

Hat pin

Colored pencils

Miracle Tape

Foam tape

Distress Stickles: Pine Needles and Peeled Paint

Water in Mini Mister

Craft sheet

STAMPS!!

On your craft sheet, swipe Barn Door, Peeled Paint, and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks beside each other.

Spray generously with Memories Mist- until the ink beads up.

Swipe tag through the mess on your craft sheet. Dry with heat gun.

Repeat....do this a few times, drying in between swipes.

Dry when done.

Stamp background stamp over entire tag using Peeled Paint and then repeat using Pine Needles.

Pretty, isn't it!

Smoosh your Peeled Paint ink pad all over the Grungeboard Tree. Dry with Heat tool.

Repeat with Pine Needles.

Put a couple of globs of Distresss Stickles- Pine Needles and Peeled Paint- on your Grunge tree.

Smear it around with your finger. Dry with heat tool.

Oh pretty tree!

Now take your Grunge star, and smoosh it into the Perfect medium pad, and dip it into gold embossing powder. Heat to melt. Let cool, smoosh onto Perfect medium again, and dip into Enchanted Gold EP.

Heat it melt.

Once it cools, add it to the top of your tree.

Stamp sentiment onto a scrap of paper with black ink.

Tear around it and ink edges with Vintage Photo.

Use Miracle Tape and add your tree to the tag.

Mine is up near the top, and the star covers the hole in the tag.

Stick the pretty pin through the top of your little stamped piece, and then stick the pin through the tag,

with the paper overlapping the tree and going off the edge of the tag.

Stamp Santa onto a scrap of white paper (I inked the paper a bit with Vintage Photo

so it wasn't bright white) using black ink. Color with pencils and cut out.

Adhere Santa to tag, in front of tree using foam tape.

Creative Paperclay and Viva Las Vegas!

Aimee here... so good to see you!

I have to tell you, the VLVS Design Team is so awesome. We have the best fearless leader EVAH!

This month we were invited to play with Creative Paperclay.

Check it out HERE.

Have you tried it before?

If not, ya have to!

Yes you can mold stuff and sculpt stuff, but it dries with out having to bake it.

FAB-U-LOUS!

Since Christmas is almost here, and I've been in a Christmas crafting mood, and I try to make ornaments for my family members each year (remember my post from last month?),

I decided to make an ornament for this month's project.

Now, I got to thinking about this- you could also use this piece on a card front or in a scrapbook because this is VERY thin and VERY light weight.

Ok, on with the show!

Supplies:

Creative Paperclay

Spellbinder's die

Acrylic paints- red, gold, black

Paint brushes

Cloth and mini mister with water

Heat Gun

Bling

Stamp

Here's the finished project.

What I was going for was the look of an old, grungy, but sweet ornament you might have found in your grandmother's Christmas decorations...Did I get it? What do you think?

Ok, now grab a ball of Paperclay, and roll it out with a rubber brayer.

I lay a transparency sheet (or parchment paper would work) on my non-stick craft sheet to work on.

I rolled this out as close to paper-thin as I could manage. I'd say it's the thickness of thin chipboard.

Press your unlinked stamp into the paper clay.

Remove the stamp.

Press your Spellbinder's die into the clay, cutting side down.

It's not going to cut through, but you've given yourself a cutting pattern!

Remove the die, and use a craft knife to cut out around the outline.

It's best to use a short, almost stabbing motion to cut the Paperclay.

If you drag your knife through it, you'll just distort your image. No fun!

Here it is cut out with the craft knife.

Now, set it aside to dry.

Once it's dry, gently sand the rough edges.

I use my pink Basic Grey file.

Once your edges are nice and smooth, base coat with red acrylic paint.

Let it dry, or be like me and heat gun that baby!!

Once your red paint is dry, add gold paint all over, being sure to get it into

the recesses of the stamped image.

Let it sit a minute (till it's nearly dry), and use a damp cloth to rub off most of the gold paint.

Leave the gold paint in the stamped image and in random spots.

Kinda like this.

Now add black acrylic paint in a messy fashion, being sure to get it into the stamped image.

Let sit a minute and rub off with wet cloth.

Make sure you add a little black paint on the edges, too.

Add some bling.

If you want an ornament, take some sheer ribbon and dirty it up

with black and gold acrylic.

Dry.

Glue onto the back of the ornament.

If you'd rather use it on a card or scrapbook page, simply adhere it to your paper

with your favorite adhesive.

I'm so excited, we're getting a new sofa! Yay cloud! But, I cannot decide- should we get the ottoman with it , or something different? Most of our other table type stuff in the living room is either black distressed or a bright color (for instance a little round metal table I painted teal!)...I'm afraid the ottoman might be too matchy-matchy.

What do you think?

Cover your tag with Distress Stains.

Yes, it's ugly, but never fear.

In a Mini Mister:

1 dropper full of Pine Needles, one 'scoop' of Perfect Pearls, and water. Shake.

Spray on tag- soak that baby.

Dry with heat gun.

See, I told ya!

Ooohhhhhh....

Trace your grunge ornament on some patterned paper.

My paper is from Tim Holtz (are ya shocked?)

Cut them out, and ink the edges.

Spray generously with Memories Mist and dry with heat gun.

Press the very top of the ornament onto your Perfect Medium Pad, and dip into gold EP.

Heat to melt and make the powder shiny.

Aren't they pretty?

Stamp the pine needles all around the tag using Peeled Paint & Library Green.

Stamp the wiener on a crap of white card stock, color, and cut out.

Place him on the right side of the tag with foam tape.

Stamp Merry Christmas in black and emboss with VLVS Super Gloss EP.

Add your ornaments, and use the gold gel pen to make the hangers.

Here's your wiener!!!

Colored Pencils

Distress Inks- BLUES- at least 2, I used three...the blues you choose don't matter much, cause they all go play nice together.

Inking handle

SANTA STAMP

Tim Holtz Seasonal Paper Stash & stickers

Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

Miracle Tape

A snowflake stamp (oohh, how about THIS ONE!)

Memories Mist- Iridescent

Black Ink- I use Staz On

Perfect Medium Pad

Perfect Pearls- Forever Blue

Paint Brush

Embossing Powder- Ranger's Bridal

Heat Gun

Snowflake trim

Flat back snowflakes

Silvery-ribbony-stuff for the tag hole

Water

Foam Tape

Use the inking handle and your blue Distress Inks to cover your tag.

Flick water onto the tag and dry it with the heat gun.

Stamp snowflakes randomly with Perfect Medium.

Use paint brush to dab Perfect Pearls onto stamped images and dust off excess.

Use Perfect Medium to stamp more random snowflakes, and emboss with Bridal EP.

Stamp random snowflakes using the darkest of your blue inks.

Spray generously with Memories Mist, and dry with the heat gun.

Cut an image from Tim's paper stash, ink edges with the darkest blue shade, and add to bottom left of tag.

Staple the corners of the paper you just added using the tiny attacher.

Choose a sticker (believe, like I did- or winter would work well, too), place it at the right side of the tag.

Add the snowflake trim across the tag.

Stamp Santa onto white card stock with black ink.

Color with colored pencils.

Ink around santa using the inking handle.

Tear around Santa, and ink heavily on the edges.

Spray with Memories Mist, dry with heat gun.

Place Santa on the tag using foam tape.

Add some more snowflake garland around Santa.

Glue a flat back snowflake on the bottom right corner of the tag. Layer another snowflake over it.

Staple your silvery stuff (or ribbon!) over the hole of the tag using the Tiny Attacher.

Glue a flat back snowflake over the staples.

Repeat with Bridal EP.

Using the inking handle, ink edges of tag and over snowflakes with Pumice Stone.

Paint your reindeer brown. When the paint is dry, smoosh
the Timber Brown Staz On pad all over him.

Dry with heat tool.

Gives a neat-o texture!

Glue snowflake garland across tag bottom, where you pieced the paper together.

Stamp sentiment using Timber Brown. Tear around edges and ink with Pumice Stone.

Adhere to tag.

Tie twine around the reindeer.

Slip some snowflakes in behind the twine

(I glued one down so it doesn't slip out).

Adhere reindeer to tag with foam tape.

Cut some of the clear snowflakes and glue them over your embossed snowflakes.

Here's your wiener!

Today's tag is a bit different from my usual.

I wanted something a little more classy and old fashioned, for my mom's card.

Supplies:

Tag

Christmas patterned paper

Flowers (these are from Petaloo)

White card stock

Brown Ink (I used Staz On Timber Brown)

Distress Ink- Vintage Photo

Inking tool

Stickles- Burgundy

Red colored pencil

Miracle tape

Scissors

STAMPS!!

Glitter Pen

See, here's the stuff.

Put some Miracle Tape on the back of your tag, adhere to paper, and cut out.

Ink edges with Vintage Photo.

Ink white card stock lightly with Vintage Photo.

Stamp Santa with brown ink on your inked card stock.

Color his hat with a red colored pencil.

Adhere Santa to the left of the tag.

I used Miracle Tape!

Coat Santa's hat with the Stickles.

Add flowers to Santa's left (I used Miracle Tape).

Stamp "Have a blessed Christmas" in brown ink to Santa's right.

Trace over words with glitter pen.

Add a little Burgundy Stickles around the edges of the tag.

Super simple to do, but looks so classy and nice!

It never fails, I get the lap top out and she decides she wants to be in my lap!

Today is your lucky day- a double whammy!

First, I betcha wonder "What the heck does she do with all those tags?"

Sometimes, I turn 'em into cards!

Super simple!

If your card base is shorter than your tag, just trim it off (if possible).

If I got this wiener card in the mail, it sure would put a smile on my face!

Here's the inside, I always put something inside.

NO NEKKID INSIDES!!!

So, on the super fabuloso stamp sheet, there is a SUPER TEENY TINY Santa Clause.

I mean, TINY!

And the Design Team was talking the other day about how to use him, because he's sooo very tiny.

So, I made some gift tags!

Simple cut some tags however yo can. There are about 1 1/2" tall, it's an old punch.

I cut mine out of some super heavy card stock, then cut some from patterned paper and adhered the paper to the card stock, so they are sturdy.

Ink your edges.

Stamp itty bitty Santa onto card stock, and push using a 1" circle punch.

Ink your edges.

Put it on the tag, and add a cute little holly sticker.

Most of these were meant to write on the back, but I did one with room to write on the front.

When you do the circle punch, make sure Santa is clear at the top of the circle.

When you place him on the tag, get him clear to the bottom, and cut the bottom of the circle off.

And, you can put them on cards!

This is my sweet Sammy, when he was a baby, about 5 weeks old (I found him in the woods with his brother, they were about 4 weeks old, and so tiny!!).

I mean SERIOUSLY how could you not love this sweet little face???

Spellbinders scalloped rectangle die

Yep, I'm back with another wiener!!

Create the back ground using Tim Holtz's Wrinkle Free Distress technique. Dry with heat tool.

Spray with Memories Mist. Dry with heat tool.

Stamp back ground stamp (would also be lovely with snowflakes!!) using Vintage Photo.

Cut a square from Seasonal Paper Stash. Rough up edges and ink with Vintage Photo.

Place on lower left corner of tag.

Add Christmas sticker from sticker sheet.

Stamp the wiener with permanent brown ink (I used Staz On Timber Brown).

Color with brown watercolor pencil and blend with water or blender pen.

Cut out, and cut off the antlers (it won't hurt, he's wearing a head band!).

Cut scalloped rectangle from red paper from Seasonal Stash.

Stamp "Have a great Christmas" in black ink at the top of the rectangle and add to tag.

Place hat on wiener's head (I put a little piece of Miracle Tape on his head, and pressed the hat onto it).

Add wiener in his hat to the rectangle.

Add snowflake garland to the bottom of the tag using Glossy Accents.

I also added a drop of Glossy Accents to the ball of the hat to hold it in place.

Here's your wiener!

His name is Cooper and he's about 9 weeks old. He's my BFF's little guy, and SOO cute.

My Sammy loves him to death!

Black ink (I used Ranger's Archival)

White card stock

Miracle Tape (I used it to adhere everything!)

Liquid Applique

Glitter

Stickers (these are from Darice)

Mini Mister with water

Craft sheet

Create the back ground using the lovely Tim Holtz's Wrinkle Free Distress Technique.

Dry with heat tool and spray with Memories Mist. Dry it again.

Rough up edges with edge distresser, and edge with Vintage Photo.

Stamp the wiener dog and the elf on white card stock with black ink. Color and cut out.

Stamp wiener onto the tag. Place the wiener you colored and cut out over the wiener on the tag.

Add elf in front of wiener- see he's leaning against the dog.

Awwww, cute!

Put a hat on your wiener.

Coat the furry white parts of the hat and the ball at the end of the elf's hat with Liquid Appliqué.

Dump some glitter on it, and remove the excess.

Heat to puff and dry.

Ink a piece of white card stock with Vintage Photo.

Stamp Merry Christmas with black ink, and cut into a rectangle.

Rough up edges with Edge Distresser and rub some Vintage Photo on the edges.

Place on tag at an angle.

Add a holly sticker to the Merry Christmas.

If you look at the letters, they contain Christmas goodies in them!

Cool, huh!

Using the handle, ink tag using Distress Inks.
Spray some water into your hand and flick the water onto the tag.
Dry with heat gun.
Stamp words with black ink and emboss.

Stamp pine needles around edges of tag with Library Green.
Add some Crystal Stickles to some of the pine needles.

Stamp & emboss elf on a piece of scrap paper.
Color and cut out.
Cut some packages from scraps of paper.
Wrap ribbon and twine around them to make little presents.
Line presents up along the bottom of the tag (I adhered them with Miracle Tape).
Add elf to tag, nestled into the presents.
Coat elf's hat with Red Stickles.
Add ribbon and twine to hole in tag.

We're making super awesome Christmas tags using the stamps shown below!

Here's some sneakies of my tags.

Sparkley Santa Ornament with Viva Las Vegas

Oh boy!

I love Christmas!!

I got the totally awesome Santa plate from Viva a couple of weeks ago and have been playing with it almost every day. I am soooo excited for Christmas!!

I make ornaments for my family members almost every year.

I say *almost* because while I have the best intentions of making them every year, there have been times that I haven't gotten them done (like last year)...

But this year, I've got a good start already.

I really love making them for my kids and my nieces and nephews.

They will all have an ornament collection when they grow up and have families of their own.

So, here's a super easy ornament.

It's inexpensive to make, not a lot of work, and looks soooo pretty!!

Get your supplies:

Creative Paperclay

Brown ink (I used Ranger's Archival Ink in Coffee)

Red acrylic paint (I used Ranger paint)

Tacky Glue

Tan or beige paint (I used Ranger paint)

Stickles (I used Crystal)

Red glitter (I used Martha Stewart)

Beads and wire

Craft Knife

Something to roll the clay out with (I used a paint bottle)

Liquid Applique

Heat gun

Paint brush

Emery board

Krylon spray sealer

Santa stamp

Roll out some Creative Paperclay to about 1/4" thick.

Ink up Santa with permanent ink and stamp onto clay.

Cut out gently with craft knife. Set aside to dry. I let mine sit overnight.

Once it's good and dry, gently smooth any rough edges with the emery board.

Now string some wire with beads and twist the ends to create a loop.

Put a little Tacky Glue on the back of the ornament, near the top.

Put a little piece of Paperclay on the back of the ornament over the Tacky Glue.

Place the twisted wire on the wet clay, and smoosh the clay up over the wire.

Place another small piece of clay over the wet clay and wire.

Smooth it down.

Set aside and let dry.

Now, paint Santa's hat red.

While the paint is wet, dump red glitter on it.

Let sit a couple of minutes and tap off the excess.

Use Liquid Applique to coat the trim and fuzzball on Santa's hat.

Heat with the heat gun to dry it and make it puff up.

Water down some tan paint and use your finger to rub lightly onto Santa's face.

Use Crystal Stickles and rub over Santa's beard, eyebrows, and hair with your finger.

Let it all dry, and spray with some clear sealer.

I'm working on Christmas goodies! Here's a shot of my very messy work table...

I have one of those 9-slot 7 Gypsies trays for ATCs....It's been hanging on my peg wall for, umm, a long time...So I thought I'd make some Christmas decor with it.

I did this ATC tonight.

ATC was inked using Peeled Paint, Barn Door, and Fired Brick Distress Inks.

Embossed some of the red with Fired Brick Distress Embossing Powder.

Stamped the evergreen branches with Peeled Paint Distress and Library Green Archival.

Stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Archival.

Stamp the wiener onto scrap paper, color with markers, and put some Miracle Tape on the back.

Cut it out.

Add to ATC.

Add some Scattered Straw Distress Stickles to the antlers, Crystal Lacquer to the nose, and Yellow Stickles to the bell. I mean SERIOUSLY!! How cute is he?!

I also used some Christmas glitter nail polish around the edges.

I've been playing with this ADORABLE little cactus in a pot stamp from Doodletales on Etsy.

This little guy just makes me smile!!

My first little project is an ATC.

I inked the bottom part with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.

Embossed very messily with Vintage Photo Distress EP.

Looks kinda like sand, don't ya think?

Inked the top part with Broken China and Stormy Sky Distress Inks.

Stamped the cloud (from Viva Las Vegas Stamps) with Stormy Sky.

Dry it all with the heat gun!

Stamped the little cactus with Memories ink on scrap paper.

Colored with markers, put Miracle Tape on the back, and cut them out.

I left ONE in the pot, but the rest are pot-less.

Put 'em all onto the ATC.

It's a Happy Cactus party!!

Here we have a very inky card!

Brown card base, cream colored panel inked with Tea Dye & Vintage Photo Distress Inks.

Center inked panel onto card front.

Cut a strip of cream card stock and ink with Forest Moss and Vintage Photo.

Lay a Crafter's Workshop template over the strip and ink through it with Vintage Photo.

Edge with Vintage Photo, and adhere to upper part of card.

Stamp sentiment with Coffee Archival ink.

Cut a scrap of paper into a rectangle. Ink edges, adhere in center of strip at an angle.

Stamp cute little cactus, color with pencils, and punch out with a 1" circle punch.

Ink edges with Vintage Photo.

Adhere to card.

Coat cactus with green Crystal Lacquer, and let dry.

Then coat the entire cactus and circle with clear Crystal Lacquer.

Amazing Mold Putty and Resin...how I do it!

Hello again!

I thought that today, instead of showing you a finished project, I'd show you the stuff I use to make my molds. Are ya excited?

When you buy your AMAZING Resin products, they come with cute little measuring cups and stir sticks. I tend to go through those rather quickly.

At first I was wiping the little cups out, but although I try to be frugal, it was too much work for me.

So I went to the store and got a package of the paper 'bathroom' cups, and a 2 cup plastic measuring cup. At the craft store, I bought a package of these long sticks that are meant for making neat things,

but work GREAT as stir sticks for larger volumes of stuff.

When I am mixing the resin, I use the paper bathroom cups to put my parts A & B into, then pour them into the large measuring cup if I am doing a large amount. So, I only have one thing to clean!! And actually, once the resin is dry, I can just pop it right off of that large cup.

SWEET!!

(PS- your bottles of A & B and stir sticks will fit into the 2 cup measuring cup for storage!!)

I am also always in awe of molds that I purchase on Etsy...

Usually they are beautiful, round, and smooth.

How in the heck do they do it!?!?

I've been experimenting with containers I can stick the mold putty into, to create my own

beautiful, round, smooth molds.

For tiny stuff, the paper bathroom cups work great!

You want your item to fit into the bottom of the cup, so you don't end up using

a ton of putty (you'll see what I mean in the last photo)

I mix my A & B, roll it into a ball, and press it into the cup.

Then add the piece I want to cast. FABULOUS!

Now CHECK THIS OUT!!! See all these filled molds? When I mixed my resin, I only filled my little paper cups about 1/8 of the way...See, the resin goes a long, long way. Doesn't take much of it to make lots of stuff.

I brushed the faces mold with Copper Perfect Pearls.

Then I mixed in Forever Red Perfect Pearls into the resin before I poured it.

I can't wait to see how these look when they come out tomorrow!

Ah, yes, the heart.

This is what I was telling you about- my heart didn't fit in the bottom of the cup,

so I ended up with a HUGE, thick base on my mold.

That's OK, but I'd rather use less putty on one mold, ya know?

Oh how I do adore the wieners!

I have two Halloween tags for you today...

These babies are going to Canton, Ohio on Saturday (along with 40 of their relatives)

to my Fiskateer pals!

Tag started life out as cream colored card stock.

Stamped with back ground swirls, sprayed with Memories Mists (Copper),

and inked with Distress Ink (Black Soot).

Die cut black scalloped rectangle.

Die cut cream card stock rectangle and stamp with swirl back ground stamp.

Ink with Black Soot and layer onto black rectangle.

Put rectangles onto tag!

Stamp Sexy Witch with black ink and emboss.

Color her to make her even sexier (I used regular ol' water based markers).

Rub some Stickles onto her dress.

Coat her hat with purple Crystal Lacquer.

Oh, sexy!

Once your Lacquer is dry, flip her over and put some Miracle Tape on the back and cut her out.

Stamp and emboss broom sentiment on a scrap of orange card stock.

Tear out.

Ink edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Stick it to the tag.

Add Sexy Witch to the tag.

Oh, sexy!

And to make these tags really sturdy (and because they weren't flat after all the stuff I did to them!!),

I attached them to card board using Miracle Tape.

I am a Miracle Tape addict.

Wonder if there's a 12 step program for Miracle Tape addiction??

Ahhhhhhh, Miracle Tape....

I love it (almost) as much as I love my wieners!

I mean, look at that face!!

So, because I love my wieners soooo much, I felt the need to do a Wiener-riffic Halloween tag!!

Yeah!

This tag started out the same as the Sexy Witch one did, and was treated the same way.

Black scalloped rectangle layered with cream card stock rectangle which was inked with Black Soot.

Stamp & emboss wiener dog (this guy looks just like my Sammy!!), color with markers.

Flip him over and add Miracle Tape (see, Wieners and Miracle Tape, a match made in crafty heaven!!), and cut him out.

Add him to the tag and say awwwwww.

Now, get your Sexy Witch again, and stamp & emboss just her head on a scrap of paper.

Cut her hat off.

Put some Miracle Tape on the back of her hat, and cut it out.

Color hat with and orange marker, cot with orange Crystal lacquer, and stick it on your wiener's head.

Awwwwww.

Now, anyone who has a wiener knows that wieners love candy, so ya gotta take him trick or treating! Get a cute Halloween button, cut off the shank, and glue it to the tag.

Find yourself a Trick or Treat sticker, mount it onto some card stock, trim, ink with Black Soot, and add it to your tag. I also gave him a little doggie bone (sticker).

I ended up in the crafty studio yesterday!

Normally I stay out of there on the weekends...well, at least I try to.

I'll be working on these some more today!

Cute Little Pumpkin Necklace

Here's another project using the cute little Doodletales stamp!

I put a little Crystal Lacquer in the bottom of a bottle cap, and then filled it with green Doodlebug glitter. Stamp & emboss, color, and cut out cute little pumpkin . Put her into the bottle cap, and let sit about 10 minutes- so the lacquer that is inside has time to harden up a bit. Then, fill the bottle cap the rest of the way, adding some tiny orange and green beads. Let sit overnight, and you'll have an ADORABLE little charm!

I beaded a little chocker length necklace using the same beads I put inside the bottle cap.

Ranger Techniques in Marion!

Viva Las Vegas and Robin's Nest- Happy Halloween!!

Ah, how I am enjoying Viva Las Vegas!!

I like the way this little project turned out.

I'll be putting it on a little easel to sit on the shelf in my living room.

This is an 8x8-ish piece of craft wood.

Cover one side of the craft wood with Miracle Tape , smoothing it down (I used a rubber brayer).

Remove backing, and cover with patterned paper, smoothing it down.

This freaking BEAUTIFUL paper is from

The Robin's Nest.

Stamp your sexy witch on a scrap of cream colored card stock using brown ink.

I used Coffee Archival from Ranger.

Add a little color and cut her out.

Add some glitter to her hat. Adhere her to the board.

Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of cream colored paper using brown ink, trim, and ink edges.

Add to board.

Add some Miracle tape to the edge of the board.

Cover your Miracle Tape with beads, tiny hole-less beads, glitter, or Beadazzles.

Coat with Glossy Accents.

New Stamps!! Doodletales on Etsy

I found this lovely little stamp maker on Etsy.

Their name is Doodletales . They have the absolute CUTEST little stamps!!!

They were looking for some designers and I offered myself up :)

So once a week for the next while, I'll have a new project using their stamps.

I just love them- they are very sweet and whimsical.

This is my first project using a Doodletales stamp.

I used this sweet little pumpkin .

The base is a little canvas tag from Canvas Home Basics/Canvas Corp . I dyed it using a few different colors of Color Wash from Ranger. Let it dry (or dry with a heat tool). Sew a little scrap of paper to the tag (this paper is from Bella Blvd). Add a little ruffle trim to the bottom of the tag. Glue a flower or other fabric piece to the bottom right corner- I used a crocheted circle.

Stamp your little cutie pie on a scrap of cream card stock and emboss. Color with Prismacolor markers.
Adhere to a Fragment Charm using Glossy Accents. Wrap some colored wire through the hole on the charm, add a few beads, and glue the charm to the fabric embellishment using a permanent glue.

Add your letter stickers to say "Happy Fall". Using permanent glue, add twine to the back of the tag. Once the glue is dry, tie the twine to make a hanger.

Next week I'll have ANOTHE project for you using this little cutie!!

YAY!!

So, I received my first box of fun last week, and I got a little play time.
Here's what I did....

This is a silicone ice cube tray from the Dollar Tree.

A friend picked it up for me a few years ago.

Most people who know me know how I LOVE Halloween.

So you mix up the resin according to the pkg directions.

Add a little red dye and a little shimmer powder to the liquid.

Pour it into the mold, and add some sparkly stars sprinkled over top.

Let set for 24 hrs and pop the resin pieces out of the mold.

SUPER COOL!!!!!!!

I rubbed a little black Staz On ink over the details.

I'm gluing a bail on the back and putting it on a ribbon necklace- photo coming!!

Mixed Media Owl Wall Hanging- new workshop!!

Here's a fun new workshop!!

I'll have them in the calendar when I have dates lined up.

This project was born from an Art Journal page I did a couple of weeks ago.

The owl on this art journal page was cut from a Kleenex box!

Isn't she CUTE!?!?!

The box had 4 owls on it, and I cut them all out to use them.

This page used acrylic paint, Twinkling H2Os, stamps, Distress Embossing Powder, and watercolor paints.

I stamped with Staz On.

Onto the painting.....

This was done on an 8x10 cradled board.

Add a lot of acrylic paints, Perfect Pearls, modeling paste, stamps,

and a template from The Crafter's Workshop.

The acrylic paints are all from Ranger , the Claudine Hellmuth line.

I LOVE these paints!

This project will be customizable- you'll be able to choose your own paint colors and I will have a few sizes of cradled boards for you to choose from!

An Interesting Lesson in Organization and Personality

After years and years of thinking about it, stalking the Scrap Rack website, following the organization webcasts, etc, I FINALLY found one used. Actually, I got TWO complete Scrap Racks along with tons of pages, dividers, and TWO travel totes for the price it would've cost me to purchase one complete set with travel bag new! AWESOME deal!

The Scrap Racks arrived 2 days before I was to go for a weekend scrapbooking retreat with my best friend. I eagerly spent an afternoon putting all of my stuff into it. It seems I am not a paper/sticker/die cut hoarder, because I did NOT have enough stuff to fill the Scrap Rack!! So instead of taking the entire rack to the retreat, I was able to jut take the travel pack. Yay cloud!

I used the system for the weekend, and the entire week following. I like it for many reasons:

1. It fits in a relatively small amount of space.

2. Stuff truly IS easy to find!

3. Packing for that weekend was SO darned easy- travel tote, one rolling tote, one shoulder tote full of dies..AWESOME.

4. Putting everything away when I got home, again incredibly easy.

5. Kinda neat having something no one else had! LOL

Empty Scrap Rack

I did find, however, that I DO NOT enjoy using the Scrap Rack....and for one reason only, and I KNOW this makes me a total dork....

IT IS TOO ORGANIZED

I know, that makes no sense!!

Some things that bugged me:

1. I am a digger. I actually PREFER digging through a little bin of metal goodies rather than flipping a page and seeing them all laid out.

2. SCRAPS- I was keeping them in an Art Bin tote. I removed them from the Art Bin and put them into the Scrap Rack and HATED IT...My friends and I always share our scraps. Having them in the Art Bin makes it easy to do so. Someone says "Do you have a scrap of white card stock?"... Yep, here's the bin. Have fun. Over the weekend, if someone asked for a scrap, I had to look for it myself, and it was a major disruption for me...So my scraps are back into their lovely orange Art Bin container.

See, the Scrap Rack is FABULOUS, and it does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do. It organizes you, and makes it SUPER easy to store a TON of stuff in a small space, and super easy to pack for a crop. It was so nice to go for an entire weekend with just the Travel tote, my rolling tote (which is a crate), and the shoulder bag of dies...last retreat before that I had WAY more and it took me 5 trips to get it all inside.

So I sold my Scrap Rack to a friend who, unlike myself, is extremely organized. I think she will love it. She thinks she will love it. And she laughed at me when she asked why I didn't want to keep it.

I did take a lot of the Scrap Rack organizing tips to heart, however, and did streamline my storage a TON! My paper is now in a SMALL rolling crate. I use the Cropper Hopper Sticker Envelopes , too. I have one full of alphabets (stickers, rub ons) and one full of die cuts and stickers. They are in the small rolling crate with the paper. I have my ribbons/trims wrapped around a large piece of chipboard and in a 12x12 page protector, also in the small rolling crate. There's room in the crate for my paper trimmer as well.

So, utilizing some of their tips, I have streamlined my organization/storage and I am so happy about that! My next retreat should consist of the small rolling crate of paper and stuff, my regular rolling crate, and a shoulder tote. YAY!!

Halloween Fun

Here's another project in the works!

Anyone who knows me well can tell you that Halloween is my favorite holiday! I could dress up and have Halloween parties almost all year long :)

This is a 6x6 Tim Holtz Configurations box. I removed a couple of the little cubbies, and turned one around backwards to make a wall.

Stamps, paints, paper, GLITTER!! Still have work to do on this piece but it's coming along nicely.

What I'm Working on Today!

I've been working on this torso for quite some time, and I think she's close to being finished. Finally!

This started out as a nekkid paper mâché torso from Micheals. I covered her with torn music paper (7 Gypsies), washed her with diluted paints (teal and copper) and dry brushed with black paint.

Her wings are Grungeboard, painted black.

Her base is made from a block of wood, covered in music Tissue Tape (Tim Holtz) and painted with copper & black acrylic paints. I added flat backed marbled to the bottom for feet.

Every girl needs some bling, so I made her a cool necklace.

I think she needs a few finishing touches. I'll post her again when she's completed.

Viva Las Vegas Stamps on a Mini Canvas

Here we have a little mini ATC sized canvas.

I sprayed it with blue perfect pearls mist, blotted with a paper towel,

then stamped the clouds with Pool Adirondack (dye) ink from Ranger.

Rubbed some Peeled Paint Distress Ink across the bottom half of the canvas,

and added Peeled Paint Distress embossing powder.

Heat, cool, rub as directed.

Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock with

Jet Black Archival Ink, tear around, and ink with your blue ink.

Stamped the dog with Jet Black Archival Ink on white card stock.

Color and cut out.

I also used a black glitter pen from Sakura on the stripes of the dog's pants.

Looks like I need to trim around the inside of the dog's arm a bit!

I adhered the sentiment and dog with Miracle Tape from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.

All of the Stamps are also fromVLVS!

I used a little Tacky Glue to add the trim around the edges.

We have this super narrow little spot of wall in the hallway, and I've been looking for

stuff to put there. This little guy is gonna go in that space!

So I can FINALLY make the announcement....

Do you people have any idea how hard it is for me to keep a secret!!?

I was picked to be on the new Viva Las Vegas Stamps design team! Oh yeah!

I LOVE these guys! Everyone is so nice and helpful.

And the stamps- oh my!

Funny, dorky, snarky sayings galore (yeah, so now you know why I like 'em).

So if you go to their blog you'll see my goofy face and bio,

along with the rest of the team. Super coolio!

I also have to tell you about a couple of things I LOVE....

Numero uno- the Pound O' Rubber . One of the best deals I've ever seen!

In my Pound O Rubber I had a Australian Cattle Dog stamp!!! A HUGE butterfly!

Just tons of awesome stamps, and NO DUPLICATES!!

And number two- Miracle Tape. Holy awesomeness, BatMan!

It's super sticky tape kind of like the Scor-Tape, but I think it's easier to deal with.

I used it to stick the stamped images to the canvas in this post,

and they are not going anywhere!

Do yourself a favor and get some!

On to the show...

For this first project, I wanted to use this saying, but it wasn't going to fit.

So, I cut it in half.

This is an ATC. I inked it using Distress Inks in

Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, and Tumbled Glass.

Stamp your Australian Cattle Dog using permanent ink (I used Archival)

Stamp your dog BEFORE you start inking.

Stamp him a 2nd time on a post it note and cut out to make a mask.

Stick your mask over your stamped dog and go to town!

I traced around there "where" with a Sakura glitter gel pen.

A Little Wiener Update

So, this little mini Dachshund, Daisy, has become a permanent member of our family.

Sammy has decided she is allowed to stay (took a little over 2 weeks),

and it's pretty peaceful most of the time.

He gets a little bent out of shape on occasion- she ALWAYS wants to play,

and Sam likes his naps! LOL

Here is one of the projects I submitted.

AND, I actually gave this to them at CHA this summer.

Cute little folded book, using all Doodlebug papers, except for the white card stock.

This was a SUPER fun little project!!!

And a great way to use up scraps!

The butterfly stamp is from PSX, and the ink is of course from Ranger.

Oops, I forgot, there is a little BoBunny Double Dot paper in there!!

And here's another project...I gave them this one at CHA, too.

Viva Las Vegas! or, Happy Halloween!! (part 1)

I've completed my first Halloween project of the year!!!

This was created for the Viva Las Vegas Stamps design team application.

Keep your paws crossed for me!

This fun little Haunted House piece was made using the

LID to the 6x6 Tim Holtz Configurations Box.

Pretty clever, I thought!

Now, on with the show.....

Step 1: Remove the lid from your box. Remove the protective plastic covering from the acetate panel. Apply Alcohol Inks (Ranger) to acetate panel- Sail Boat Blue, Slate, and Pebble. Then add a little Blending Solution to the same felt pad, and go over the acetate sheet again. Now, stamp the haunted house (this one is from Just For Fun stamps) on the BACK of the inked acetate piece, with permanent ink (I used Staz On).

Step 2: Stamp same haunted house on white card stock, color, and cut out.

Viva Las Vegas! or, Happy Halloween (part 2)

Hey Viva Las Vegas Stamps, are ya looking? :)

Step 4: Flip your acetate piece over so the alcohol inked side is up. Adhere your paper haunted house to the acetate, lining the paper image with the acetate image (I used Glossy Accents to adhere mine).

Step 5: Drop some Alcohol Ink Blending Solution onto the alcohol inked side of the acetate piece, onto the moon, path, and fence.

Step 6: On the NON alcohol inked side, color the moon, path, and fence with Sharpie markers.

*note: you want to color on the NON INKED side because Sharpie will remove Alcohol Ink and Staz On ink. These are all solvent inks, and solvents remove each other.*

Step 7: Now, get yourself a piece of glossy card stock. Cut it to 5 3/4" square. Ink with Alcohol Inks: Cloudy Blue, Stonewashed, Sail Boat Blue, Lake Mist, Pebble, and Silver Mixitive. We're going for a dark and stormy sky here. Once your paper looks good, adhere it to the back side of the acetate sheet using the adhesive of your choice (I used Glossy Accents but you could also use Mod Podge or Matte Medium).

Step 8: Tear up some masking tape and stick it inside the frame randomly. Then, water down some black paint and add a watery black wash over the entire inside of the frame...

Step 9: Adhere the acetate panel backed with card stock to the inside of the frame.

Step 10: Stamp a witch onto white card stock, color and cut out. Create a Jack O'Lantern (mine is Grungeboard) and decorate. This one is painted with orange paint, and has orange Stickles added. I backed the Jack with black card stock. Glue witch and Jack together. Isnt' that fun!

Are ya looking, Viva Las Vegas Stamps?

Step 11: Take your little witchy-poo, turn her around. Fold a piece of chip board orGrungeboard in half. I used the piece out of the smile on Jack. Glue to the back of your witch, to make a little easel. Nifty, dontcha think!

Step 12: Add some patterned paper to the outside sides of your frame. I used paper from We R Memory Keepers (last year's Halloween goodies). Add black paint around the edges and all over in a messy fashion.

Step 13: Ah, (un)lucky number 13...What an appropriate number to end on for a Halloween project!! Stick your witchy-poo and her buddy Jack inside the frame by gluing the bottom of your 'easel' into the frame (I used Tacky Glue). Paint a little wooden fence in a very messy fashion so it looks old (I used Mushroom paint dabber from Ranger , and a little bit of black acrylic paint. Fence came from JoAnns). Glue onto front of frame (again, I used Tacky Glue). Add a scary kitty (this one is Grungeboard ) and add some glowing eyes and glitter! Every Halloween scene needs a bat or three, so add a couple of bats around the haunted house, and one at the front of the frame (all bats are Grungeboard, painted black and have Black Soot Distress Stickles added). Add any fun little Halloween things ya want!

When I bought my Configurations box, I did not realize it came with a lid.

When I opened it, I almost threw the lid away,

because I thought I didn't need it.

I'm glad I kept it!

I have the perfect little shelf in my living room for this piece to go on

when I decorate for Halloween today!

Wiener Update

So it appears that Daisy is staying with us.

She has fit in so well, and so quickly, it's like she was meant to be here.

Sammy has gotten over being mad and jealous, and even asks her to play now.

The three dogs in bed with me one morning.

Sam & Daisy playing in the back yard.

I am beginning to think that she is not a year old, like the previous owner thought.

She is very immature and acts like a puppy.

I'm interested to see what the vet has to say.

Awww, sleepy wiener.

Seriously, how cute is this dog!

She sleeps with me at night.

I haven't bought her a crate yet.

She's been a good influence on the other two- she doesn't get into stuff,

and is just easy to live with.

I am going to get her a crate, I want her crate trained,

but was waiting to see if she was gonna stay. :)

Weenie Time

This little cutie pie came home with me today.

She's a purebred (but doesn't have papers)

piebald dapple mini Dachshund.

She doesn't sit still much, but she is a cutie.

Sammy isn't sure if she's going to be allowed to stay or not yet.

Theirs was the last booth I made it to before the show ended.
